Angela Pneuman teaches fiction writing in the Continuing Studies program at Stanford University and works as a copywriter in the California wine industry. Her stories have appeared in Best American Short Stories (2012 & 2004), Ploughshares, Los Angeles Review, Iowa Review, Glimmertrain and many other literary magazines—and were collected in her first book, Home Remedies (Harcourt, 2007). Angela was a Stegner Fellow at Stanford, a Presidential Fellow at SUNY Albany, and the recipient of the inaugural Alice Hoffman Prize for short fiction from Ploughshares. Her novel Lay It on My Heart is a Barnes & Noble Discover Great New Writers pick for Fall of 2014.
Cleveland, Ohio native Babette Rosen Hughes is a bootlegger’s daughter whose father and uncle were murdered by the Mafia. Ms. Hughes is the co-author of Why College Students Fail and author of the memoir, Lost And Found. Her published columns, articles and book reviews can be found in the Saturday Review, Cleveland Plain Dealer, Cleveland Magazine and the Cleveland Press. Babette and her husband are parents and stepparents to eight children and now reside in Austin, Texas.
Vicki Reed hails from the "Horse Capitol of the World", Lexington, Ky, where she lives with her husband and son. With a degree in Law Enforcement and a Masters in Criminal Justice, she has spent decades in the child welfare and juvenile justice fields. She combined her love for horse, nature, and kids in trouble to create her first novel, The Car Thief. Car Thief went on to win 2 national/international awards.
Her newest novel, Sleight of Hand, was released in March 2025. This book follows a troubled teen in foster care and the adults who rally to turn his life around.
