Padma Viswanathan’s debut novel, The Toss of a Lemon, was published in eight countries, a bestseller in three, and a finalist for the Commonwealth (Regional) First Book Prize, the Amazon.ca First Novel Prize and the Pen Center USA Fiction Prize. Her second novel, The Ever After of Ashwin Rao, was published in Canada in spring of 2014, and shortlisted for the Scotiabank Giller Prize. It is forthcoming in the USA, India and Australia.
Viswanathan’s short fiction appears in various journals; her story “Transitory Cities” won the 2006 Boston Review Short Story Contest. Her plays include House of Sacred Cows and Disco Does Not Suck.

Emily is author of Autokrator, a dystopian spec fiction novel and Hemo Sapiens, Sept 30, Canada, Oct 28, USA, a wicked, urban and sophisticated twist on the vampire myth. Forthcoming Emily will have a short story in an anthology about monsters with Dundurn Press and is Co-Editing "Whatever" a short story collection of works by Canadian GenX authors, along with Ali Bryan.
Emily was raised in a hippy community in Coe Hill Ontario on organic farm. She worked as a professional in the film industry for over 30 years, including as an Art Director on Murdoch Mysteries, Baroness Von Sketch, and as various roles on The Bride of Chucky.
