Nini Roll Anker

Nini Roll Anker (born Nicoline Magdalene Roll) was a Norwegian novelist and playwright.

She is known as one of the most important authors of Norwegian new realism. Her writing also supports the views of the women's rights movement and the rights of the working class. In one of her most knowns novels "Det som Henger i en Tråd" (1935) she portrays the hard and difficult life of the seamstresses in the factories.

She was a prominent figure in the 20s and 30s. She was both an aristocrat and a rebel; a feminist, socialist and pasifist, but did have social relations with the Norwegian royal family. This gave her the nickname "the royal court communist".

Frode Grytten

Frode Grytten (born December 11, 1960 in Odda) is a Norwegian writer and journalist. He is the author of the Brage award-winning novel Bikubesong ('Song of the Beehive'), and other collections of short stories and poetry. His works have been translated into Swedish, Danish, Finnish, German, Dutch, Albanian, Croatian and Chinese.

Grytten is a native of the industrial town Odda, which often features in his work.

Vigdis Hjorth (born 1959) is a Norwegian novelist. She grew up in Oslo, and has studied philosophy, literature and political science.
