Gerd Brantenberg

Gerd Mjøen Brantenberg is a Norwegian author, teacher, and feminist writer. She is also the cousin of radio and TV entertainer Lars Mjøen.

Brantenberg was born in Oslo, but grew up in Fredrikstad. She studied English, History, and Sociology in London, Edinburgh, and Oslo. She has an English hovedfag (main subject, comparable to a Master), from the University of Oslo, where she also studied history and political science.
Since 1982 she has been a writer full-time.

Magnhild Haalke

Magnhild Haalke (1885-1984), fra Vikna i Nord-Trøndelag, debuterte som forfatter i 1935 med romanen Allis sønn. Hun var da 50 år gammel, og boken regnes fremdeles som hennes beste verk. Den ble oversatt til 17 språk.

Agnar Mykle

Agnar Mykle was a Norwegian author.
He became one of the most controversial figures in Norwegian literature in the 20th century after the publication of «Sangen om den Røde Rubin» («The Song of the Red Ruby») in 1957 which ignited what became one of the most famous court cases in Norwegian history.
Mykle and his publisher Harald Grieg were accused of writing and publishing immoral, pornographic, and obscene material. Mykle's defense attorney was Johan Bernhard Hjort. Mykle and Grieg were both acquitted, but the remaining copies of the book were ordered withdrawn from the market. The Norwegian Supreme Court overturned the ruling on the confiscation in 1958.

Märta Tikkanen (b. April 3, 1935) is a Swedish-speaking Finnish writer. Born in Helsinki she worked as a reporter for Hufvudstadsbladet from 1956 to 1961.
