  Vamba Sherif is a novelist, essayist, speaker, book and film critic. He’s a lecturer in African Literature at Leiden University. His work has appeared in many languages, including Dutch, English, French, German, Spanish, Polish, and the Indian Malayalam. He has also published essays, stories, film reviews, columns and opinion pieces in The New York Times, the German Kulturaustausch, African Writing, Trouw, Volkskrant, NRC and ZAM-Magazine, among many others. With Ebissé Rouw, he compiled Black: Afro-European literature in the Netherlands and Belgium, a unique anthology of Afro-European experience in the Low Countries.   Fredericus Joannes Antonius Maria "Fik" Meijer is a Dutch historian and author. He studied classics and ancient history at Leiden University and graduated in 1973. Meijer is an emeritus professor of ancient history at the University of Amsterdam.
  
  He has written numerous non-fiction books on the ancient world for a broad audience, a number of which have been translated into multiple languages. He has also published several translations of classic works into Dutch.

  Marente de Moor (b. 1972) studied Slavonic Languages and lived in the 1990’ s in Russia, where she worked for both Russian and Dutch media. Her columns about the absurdist Russian everyday life were collected and published as Petersburgse vertellingen in 1999. After her return to the Netherlands she worked several years at the weekly HP/De Tijd.   Olesya Khromeychuk

  Olesya Khromeychuk is a historian of 20th century East-Central Europe, specialising in Ukrainian history. She has a PhD in History from University College London. Olesya has previously taught at King’s College London, the University of East Anglia, University College London and the University of Cambridge. She also runs a theatre company, Molodyi Teatr London, that stages documentary pieces exploring urgent social and political themes.
