Lars Norén

Norén is considered Sweden's most prominent contemporary playwright of today. He wrote his first play at age 19. His first publication was a collection of poems - Syrener, snö (Lilac, snow) in 1963. His plays are realistic and often revolve around family relations and the impoverished and routed at the bottom of society.
Norén became well known in connection with the murders of two policemen in Malexander in 1999. The culprits had received furlough from their incarceration at Österåker jail to participate in Norén's play 7:3.

In 1971 he received Aftonbladet's literary prize.

Tove Jansson

Tove Jansson was born and died in Helsinki, Finland. As a Finnish citizen whose mother tongue was Swedish, she was part of the Swedish-speaking Finns minority. Thus, all her books were originally written in Swedish.

Although known first and foremost as an author, Tove Jansson considered her careers as author and painter to be of equal importance.

Tove Jansson wrote and illustrated her first Moomin book, The Moomins and the Great Flood (1945), during World War II. She said later that the war had depressed her, and she had wanted to write something naive and innocent. Besides the Moomin novels and short stories, Tove Jansson also wrote and illustrated four original and highly popular picture books.

Nina Björk

Nina Björk is a Swedish journalist, author and feminist. She is most well known for Under det rosa täcket (Under the Pink Duvet), a feminist book written in 1996.

She is considered to be a postmodern equity feminist. In 2008 she earned her PhD degree in literary criticism at Gothenburg University with her doctorate thesis Fria själar. She is also well known as a columnist in Dagens Nyheter.

Sara Stridsberg

Sara Stridsberg is a Swedish author and translator. Her first fiction novel, Happy Sally, was about Sally Bauer, the first Scandinavian to swim the English Channel.

In 2007, she was awarded the Nordic Council's Literature Prize for her novel Drömfakulteten (The Dream Faculty), which is her second novel and a fictitious story about Valerie Solanas, who wrote the SCUM manifesto, which Stridsberg has translated into Swedish.

Vigdis Hjorth

Vigdis Hjorth (born 1959) is a Norwegian novelist. She grew up in Oslo, and has studied philosophy, literature and political science.

In 1983, she published her first novel, the children's book "Pelle-Ragnar i den gule gården" for which she received Norsk kulturråd's debut award. Her first book for an adult audience was "Drama med Hilde" (1987). "Om bare" from 2001 is considered her most important novel, and a roman à clef.

Hjorth has three children and lives in Asker.

Mats Jonsson is a Swedish comic creator. Debuting as a teenager in the Swedish fanzine society, Jonsson later became one of the prime Swedish representants for the autobiographical comic genre, inspired by American and Canadian comic creators such as Harvey Pekar, Seth, and Joe Matt.

Mats Jonsson has been published in several Swedish newspapers and magazines. Many of his works have been collected in albums.

Liv Strömquist

Strömquist was born in Lund and grew up in Ravlunda in the Österlen region of south Sweden. Today she lives in Malmö. Already as a five-year old she made her own comics, but stopped, until she took up drawing comics at the age of 23. Her flatmate made her interested in comic fanzines then. With Rikedomen, she published her first own fanzine.
