J. W. Meyer grew up in rural Wisconsin. He always had a fanciful imagination that dreamt about going on wild adventures to discover amazing places. As a teenager, J. W. Meyer got hooked on reading fantasy novels, and his library began to swell. His interest in writing developed with the help of an amazing teacher, who offered priceless lessons filled with lasting memories for those who could get past the façade of his gruff demeanor.
After completing school, J. W. Meyer worked for a few years before joining the U. S. Army to become an airborne infantry soldier. After a year and a half, he earned the prestigious Airborne Ranger certification. As a paratrooper, he engaged in combat deployments, where he fought in Iraq and Afghanistan. Sergean
Marla Himeda is a lifelong musician who has taught piano and clarinet for eighteen years at Punahou Schools and for over half a century in her own studio. She teaches her own theory and composition courses, coaches ensemble groups, and is a prolific arranger of chamber music for winds. She has performed in the Seattle Opera House, the Seattle Art Museum, and many concert venues in Hawaii, where she has lived for the past fifty years near Mount Olomana, whose twin peaks sparked the birth of Bardic Mountain. She is a member of the National Music Teachers Association and Opus 5 Winds, and is principal clarinetist for the Honolulu Wind Ensemble.

Lost In The Woods I was born near Doncaster England in the early sixties but later moved south to Sussex, where I lived for many years. One of my (several schools) was at Battle, a small town named after that historic conflict in 1066. You know the one, it culminated with poor Harold getting that arrow in his eye and those rude Normans invading our green and pleasant land. Growing up so close to that scene of ancient carnage awarded me a fascination for all things Dark Age. I'd fallen victim to a weird and random imagination, resulting in a love of epic stories and epic story telling.
